Bellerin explains Real Betis move

Hector Bellerin has said that he is determined to win things with Real Betis after joining them on loan from Arsenal.

The right-back left the Gunners on deadline day after they secured the services of Takehiro Tomiyasu from Bologna.

Tomiyasu was signed as a direct replacement for the Spaniard, and he has already made his made for the Gunners.

Bellerin made his own debut for Betis yesterday, but prior to that, he highlighted his desire to win trophies.

He said:”I wanted the sun and heat, but I didn’t come here on vacation, but to fight for my position. I’ve left Arsenal to win things with Real Betis. I’m not here for a holiday.”

Betis have not won any piece of silverware since 2005, and it would be a huge task for them to end their trophy drought.

Considering this, Bellerin has had a poorly-aimed dig at his former club after falling out-of-favour under manager Mikel Arteta.

The Spaniard’s defending was often the subject of criticism, and it appears that he has not taken well to his recent departure.
