Being shortlisted for 30 players for the 2021 Ballon d’Or nomination shows that Benzema is increasingly recognized by experts and fans for his playing talent. This is an award that the striker of Real Madrid and the French team still hopes to win in his career, even if the time to realize it is not much.
Benzema told AS: “I’ve dreamed of winning the Ballon d’Or since I was a kid, it’s a dream all footballers have. Yes, the most important thing is the team, but when you help your team win, when you play well and score a lot of goals, the next thing to think about is the Ballon d’Or.
Benzema admits his dream of winning the Ballon d’Or
So I will do all I can and train as hard as I can to hopefully one day win it and achieve the dream I’ve had since I was a kid.”
Since Cristiano Ronaldo left Real Madrid, Benzema has been like himself again. No longer serving the Portuguese superstar, Benzema was able to show his full ability to play football not inferior to the world’s top strikers.
It is no coincidence that the goals continuously come to Benzema. He is currently the mainstay of Real Madrid and a favorite of Carlo Ancelotti. The French striker has scored 10 goals and provided seven assists in just 10 games this season.
“The important thing is that people enjoy the way I play and I feel happy and proud. Now there are strikers who play very well in their 30s and score a lot of goals,” Benzema added.

“Modern football allows it. It is always a great honor to be on this top 30 list, and I will keep it in mind as a goal in the big games.”
At dawn on October 11, Benzema will join the French team to play the Nations League final against Spain.
